Butterfield Half Marathon - Clare Craker

Clare Craker ran Half Marathon to raise funds for Bowel Cancer Guernsey.

I chose to support Bowel Cancer Guernsey because I want to raise awareness and support people in Guernsey who are affected by the disease. As someone who has Ulcerative Colitis (UC) and was diagnosed in 2013, this means I am more likely to develop bowel cancer than the general population. The risk of bowel cancer increases from around eight to ten years after the start of UC symptoms. But, over the last 20 years, the number of people with UC who develop bowel cancer has fallen. All this knowledge and awareness is made possible by ongoing research. 

Every donation, no matter the amount, will help Bowel Cancer Guernsey continue its important work supporting local people and raising awareness of bowel cancer.
